HAVE YOU INHERITED A COLLECTION
AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO?

Have you inherited a stamp collection and don't know what to do with it? Here are some ideas.

Become a collector - Stamp collecting is a very rewarding pastime. If you've come into a collection, take some time to learn about it. Bring a sample of what you acquired to a GPSCC meeting and let a group of friendly collectors guide you on your way.

Sell it - If you want someone to assess what you have and let you know if it is worth selling, consider reaching out to Dutch Country Auctions in Wilmington, Delaware. Dutch Country is the only stamp auction house in our general area. You could also attend a local stamp show. You will find those listed on the 3rd page of each issue of The Philly Philatelist.

Donate it - Here are three great options if you want to consider donating some or all of what you acquired:

American Philatelic Society (APS): The APS prepared packets of stamps to introduce young people to the hobby.

Stamps for the Wounded (SFTW): SFTW works with members of the military wounded in action.

Right Sharing of World Resources: This organization sells donated collections and uses the proceeds to support groups of women in lesser developed countries.
